Governor Cuomo over the weekend, announced the launch of the new Excelsior Pass. The Pass will be part of a new voluntary program that New Yorkers can take part in that will prove that they've been vaccinated or tested negative for Covid-19. This will be a simple way to show businesses, arenas, venues, etc that you're not contagious for Covid. It will work like a boarding pass in that you can keep in digitally on your smartphone or print out a hard copy if that's easier for you. Each pass will have it's own QR code that businesses can scan to verify proof of vaccination or negative Covid tests. The Governor sees the pass being used at stadiums, arenas, and any situation where a large group would be present. The Times Union Center will be using the pass.
