We have such a sweet girl from the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society as our Pet of the Week. Fiesta is almost 7 years old, and is a Perro de Presa Canario (basically a Spanish mastiff). She came to us back in November, weighing in at 160 pounds. Now, even for a mastiff, that is too big. Since then, she has been on a weight loss journey. As of today, she weighs in at 112! We are so incredibly proud of her progress. Even though she has slimmed down by almost 50 pounds, she is probably still too big and strong to be around little kids. She also seems to prefer life as an only dog, which is absolutely her prerogative. She is a silly lady who is bound to steal your heart.
