In a bit of a shocking movie, Mayor Kathy Sheehan announced yesterday that the 2021 Tulip Fest would be going virtual for the second year in a row. If you want to see the beautiful tulips on Washington Park, there will reservation only tours and you can book those either online or over the phone. The Mayor did say that they were trying to explore outdoor vending in some capacity for festival vendors. Last year everything was online with local business take out specials. The Mayor said that with the pandemic still in full swing, it would just be too risky to hold Tulip Fest in the way it's been held in the past. I know alot of us were hoping that since it was outside and with vaccinations underway, that there would be a way to reduce capacity but still have the event in Albany's Washington Park. Mayor Sheehan said the exact details about Tulip Fest would be announced in the next couple of weeks. Are you disappointed?
