Paula Abdul was back in the "American Idol" judge's chair last night, sitting in for Luke Bryan, who was forced to miss the ABC talent competition's first live show after testing positive for COVID-19. “I’m sad to say I won’t be a part of tonight’s first live @AmericanIdol show,” Luke shared on social. "I tested positive for COVID but I’m doing well and look forward to being back at it soon.” “Idol’s” Instagram page added that Luke is “resting now in quarantine at home.” Paula, of course, was a judge on the original Fox version of "Idol" along with Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson. The show launched in 2002, with Paula leaving after its eighth season. "We’ll miss you tonight @LukeBryanOnline,” Paula tweeted. “Thank you for trusting me with your judge’s seat!” It was fun to see Paula back on the show. Check out a clip below where she has some fun mocking her old buddy Simon Cowell!
