Well, this is exciting news!! We're going to be getting two musicals from the Playhouse Stage Company this summer as they head back to the Park Playhouse in Washington Park in July! Obviously last year, the season had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. But we will see two shows this summer in the Park. However, as of right now, the cap on outdoor venues is 200 patrons. And because of that the Park Playhouse will limit capacity to 200 with 100 seats in the paid area at ground level and 100 seats in the amphitheater lawn section. Obviously is the state regulations change between now and July, the number of people that will be allowed in will open up more. In July, you'll be able to see Ain't Misbehavin': The Fats Waller Musical Show which won a Tony for best musical when it was on Broadway. The music is so great!!! And then in August, it will be a production of Matilda the Musical which also won Tony Awards when it was on Broadway!
I can't wait to go see a show in Albany's Washington Park again! This will be great!! To find out more about when tickets become available and more about the shows, just click here. And remember, for both shows, you will have to make a reservation ahead of time...no more walk up sales the night of the show to make sure that all Covid protocols are in place.
