Clarence Williams III, Linc from The Mod Squad, Has Passed Away at Age 81

Sad news over the weekend. Clarence Williams III, who played LInc (Lincoln Hayes) on TV's The Mod Squad passed away at the age of 81 due to colon cancer. At the time The Mod Squad hit the airwaves in the late 60's it was groundbreaking featuring three young, hip adults, who originally had some trouble with the law, but ultimately became police officers. The show was marketed with the tag line "One black, one white, one blonde" which identifies the leads in the show, Clarence Williams III, Michael Cole and Peggy Lipton. Along with starring on The Mod Squad, Mr. Williams also starred in the movies Purple Rain, Lee Daniel's The Butler, Reindeer Games, The General's Daughter and more. He also guest starred on many TV shows including most recently Justified and Empire. I can remember having such a crush on him back in the day. He was a great actor. He will definitely be missed. RIP
