Have you enjoyed getting a drink with your take out orders? When the pandemic hit, The Governor signed an executive order allowing bars/restaurants to sell alcohol to go. It was great. Along with the food you bought, you could also get your favorite drink. A martini, a pina colada, a glass of wine, whatever you wanted. Well all that is coming to an end at midnight tonight. Yesterday, Governor Cuomo made it clear that the State of Emergency in NYS was ending as of today, and that means the executive orders he had put in place were also coming to an end. One of them was allowing alcohol to go. A bill was in the legislature to extend it, but nothing ever came of it. So as of midnight tonight, no more alcohol to go in NYS, which is too bad. It kept a lot of bars/restaurants afloat during the pandemic, and even though we are in much better shape now, they still need our help. We'll see if anything changes, but for now, no more alcohol to go.
