Well we told you a couple of weeks ago that New York Mayor Bill de Blasio tapped legendary music exec Clive Davis to organize a huge New York reopening concert on Central Park’s Great Lawn. Well, now we know some of the big names set to perform. The Mayor announced yesterday that Bruce Springsteen, Queens native Paul Simon, Jennifer Hudson and Patti Smith will headline the event. “It’s going to be one of the greatest Central Park concerts in history. This is something you do not want to miss,” de Blasio said. “This is something for the ages.” Details about the event will reportedly be announced “soon” although the initial report claimed the 60,000-capaciy concert was tentatively set for August 21st. How they'll keep it to 60,000 is beyond me, but we'll have to see how it goes down. “It is going to be a great moment for the city, marking our rebirth, marking our comeback,” de Blasio added. “We’re very excited, and it’s going to be a historic event, to say the least.” I just hope they stream it on TV because I would love to see this show!! But I don't think I'm ready to be in NYC with a huge crowd.
