Bruce Springsteen and Paul Simon are apparently battling it out to close a concert in New York City’s Central Park next month. An insider says that both music legends want to perform the finale of the star-studded extravaganza that will air on CNN. The three-hour show, produced by Clive Davis and Mayor Bill DeBlasio, celebrates New York reopening after the pandemic. We previously reported that Bruce would be doing a duet with Patti Smith, and that the “iconic” lineup also includes Jennifer Hudson and now comes word that Barry Manilow has since been added, which is fantastic!!! A rep says that the run of the show hasn’t been finalized yet. Both Bruce and Paul have a strong connection to New York City, so it’s neck and neck on who could close out the show. We’ll keep you posted.
