It wasn't long after Criminal Minds went off the air that Paramount + announced that they were bringing the show back as a revival. The idea was to have some original cast members like Paget Brewster and Joe Mantegna come back, along with new cast members. The plan was also to have the BAU follow only one cast over the course of the 10 episode season instead of the regular "case of the week." Well, now according to one of the stars of that show, the revival seems dead. Paget Brewster, who starred on Criminal Minds for many seasons, answered a question on her Twitter page basically stating that the revival was knocking on death's door. "Sadly, we think it's dead," she said on Twitter. "I'll let you know if there is any progress, but it seems unlikely, which is a bummer." Now a spokesperson for Paramount + said that the project is still in development but taking longer than expected. But usually that's network talk for it's not gonna happen. We'll keep an eye on it for you, but as a fan of Criminal Minds, I'm disappointed it won't be coming back.
