The Big Concert for NYC Saturday Night Was Called Off Halfway Through

The big “We Love NYC: The Homecoming Concert” in Central Park didn’t exactly go off as planned thanks to Mother Nature. Due to severe thunderstorms in the area, the park had to be cleared out about halfway through the show and was eventually canceled.

The early end meant big names likeBruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, The Killers, Patti Smith, Elvis Costello and more did not get to perform, although audiences did get to hear some great performances.

Organizers called the show during Barry Manilow’s set as he was singing “Can’t Smile Without You,” although he later called into Anderson Cooper on CNN, where he sang a little “I Made It Through The Rain,” which was appropriate for the evening.

Other performances that actually happened at the NYC concert included: Carlos Santana and Rob Thomas performed their classic “Smooth” and well as their new song “Move.”Journey performed their hit “Don’t Stop Believing.” Jennifer Hudson, accompanied by the New York Philharmonic, performed the operatic piece “Nessun Dorma,” a song Arteha Franklin sang at the GRAMMYS when Pavarotti dropped out. Julia Michaels and JP Saxe performed their duet “If the World Was Ending.” LL Cool J and Rev Run teamed up for “Mama Said Knock You Out” and the Run DMC classic “It’s Tricky.” Earth Wind & Fire performed their classic “September” and "You Want My Love” with Babyface and Lucky Daye. Kane Brown performed “Homesick" and "Be Like That." Check out some performance clipsbelow
