The "Jeopardy!" drama continues. Mike Richards was let go as executive producer yesterday. A letter was sent to the crew for "Jeopardy!" and "Wheel of Fortune" yesterday by an executive who said, quote, "We had hoped that when Mike stepped down from the host position . . . it would have minimized the disruption and internal difficulties we have all experienced these last few weeks. That clearly has not happened." This comes after Mike stepped down as the host of the show. All of this stems from anti-Semetic, misogynistic and racist comments he made during podcasts and a lawsuit about seven years ago. After hearing this news, former "Jeopardy!" champion James Holzhauer tweeted a "Wizard of Oz" GIF that said, quote, "Ding dong the witch is dead." That's a little telling
On a new poll on the site TV Line, Ken Jennings is in the lead as the pick for new permanent host, followed by LeVar Burton and Mayim Bialik. As it stands, Mike's five episodes will begin airing on September 13th kicking off the new season of the show. That will be one week, and after that, Mayim will fill in until they line up some other guest hosts. We'll have to wait and see how this all goes down now.
I don't know about you, but I do not like all this Jeopardy drama at all. It would definitely not have made Alex proud. He was such a classy man. There was never any drama while he hosted the show. Hopefully they can get their act together soon there.
