Today's the day Derek Jeter and Yankee/baseball fans have been waiting over a year for....Derek Jeter is being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown! Derek was voted into the Hall of Fame in January of 2020, but obviously the Covid pandemic didn't allow for a ceremony last year, so finally today is the day. Now to keep the crowds down, they're holding the ceremony on a Wednesday instead of a Sunday. Initially they were expecting Derek's induction to break all records for crowds, but with a lot of kids heading back to school today, officials are hoping they can keep the crowd below 50,000 people instead of the 100,000 they were initially expecting last year. Either way, The Captain, Derek will be right where he belongs.....in the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. Today should be pretty exciting. I know Reggie Jackson is also in town and so is former Yankee manager Joe Torre. I'll be watching the coverage on TV. What about you? Are you excited about Derek finally getting his due?
