Usually, we celebrate Americade week in the middle of summer, but this year for a number of reasons, Americade will be happening this week in the Village of Lake George. Of course, there was no Americade last year due to Covid, but it makes a triumphant return this week. And while there may not be as many motorcyclists as usual, I'm sure the Village will be filled with people enjoying all the events that Americade brings. The organizers have put special precautions in place for Covid issues, and are hoping that the people who do come have a fantastic time! They are keeping large gatherings to a minimum and also insisting on masks and social distancing. Obviously with this being the first time the event was held in September there will be some other differences as well. For instance, in June, the sun doesn't usually set till close to nine, but in September it's around 7pm. That's less daylight for riders to check out the area.
The most important thing is for all of us to remember that there will be LOTS of motorcyclists in the area from all over the country. As a motorcycle rider myself, I ask that we all pay closer attention while we're on the road. If you're following a motorcycle, make sure you give lots of room between you and the bike. Let's all make sure this new Americade is incredibly successful!! Americade runs from today, September 21st through September 25th. To find out more, just click here.
