“Jeopardy!” champ Matt Amodio continues to come out on top and Friday’s win earned him his 33rd consecutive victory. He now holds the quiz show’s second-longest winning streak, taking the title from James Holzhauer. The 30-year-old Yale PhD student won $55-thousand-400 on Friday, bringing his total winnings to $1-million, 267-thousand, 801 ($1,267,801). It’s an impressive amount, but Amodio will still have to win more than a million dollars to beat Holzhauer’s total winnings overall. And if he wants to beat Ken Jennings, the record holder for the longest winning streak in “Jeopardy!” history, the current champ will have to win 42 more games to beat the 74 Jennings won in 2004. “I have the chance to remind everybody how much better than me @James_Holzhauer is in literally every way,” Amodio tweeted before the pre-taped contest aired. “It would be an honor to be unfavorably compared to a person I admire so much!” I'll keep watching to see how far he'll go! I think he's pretty amazing!
