We found out a couple of months ago that the Times Union was not going to renew it's contract with Albany to keep the naming rights for the Arena in town. So a bidding war began! Companies like Berkshire Bank, MTX Group, Transfinder and MVP all threw their hats into the ring, and ultimately, MVP came out the winner. So as of January 1st, we'll be heading to the MVP Arena instead of the Times Union Center. I like it! MVP is a great company, and it's a good name for the Arena. It rolls off the tongue. We know that Journey just announced their coming to town in March, so for now we'll say that their coming to the Times Union Center, but at the start of the new year, it will be Journey at the MVP Arena!
