New TV Show Monarch Set to Debut On January Now Pushed To Fall

This is an interesting turn of events with a BIG TV show that was set to premiere in two weeks. The new show is Monarch, which was supposed to be a big country music drama starring Susan Sarandon and Trace Adkins, in the same vein as Nashville, only turned up a couple of notches. It's been getting a lot of buzz and Fox has been promoting it for weeks to debut on January 30th. Well, just yesterday, Fox announced that the show will be pushed back to the Fall with very little explanation. They mentioned kind of vaguely about the pandemic, but in the same statement said that filming would continue through the Spring, so it doesn't sound like Covid is shutting down the set. There are two schools of thought on this. One is that test audiences saw it and didn't like it so it's going back for lots of reshoots. The other way of thinking is that the show was so good, Fox wanted to hold off until the Fall to make it the star of it's Fall schedule. We'll have to wait and see now. I was looking forward to it. A show with Trace Adkins and Susan Sarandon about country music and all the drama...yep, I was in. We'll have to wait to Fall to find it if it's worth the wait.
