Well, there's no avoiding it. We're all in the midst of a major snowstorm here in the Capital Region. But that doesn't have to be a negative thing. There are still fun things to do when there's a snow storm. And none of them require driving anywhere. First up, have a "snowed in dinner party" No, you don't want to ask your friends to come over, but you can ask your neighbors to walk over. That way you can have a fun night with good food and a few glasses of wine, and your friends just have to walk home. Or play a boardgame. I love board games. Right now I'm hooked on Ticket To Ride, but there are so many good ones out there. Or if there's a TV show that you've been dying to binge watch, today is the day to do it. I just finished Inventing Anna on Netflix. It was really good and based on a true story. If you really like the snow, you can always get out and build a snowman. The snow has a little moisture to it, so it can be done. Or grab a neighbor or family member and have a good old fashioned snow ball fight. You'd be surprised how easily it takes you back to being a kid.
And let's get to the work part of a snow storm......taking care of your driveway and walkways. If you possibly can, this is the kind of storm you want to either snow blow or plow. Get someone to do it if you can. If you must shovel, do it in increments. Do some now, then again in two hours, etc. That way you won't get to a point where you're shoveling a foot of snow all in one shot. That would be too much for your body.
Most importantly, be careful! We'll get through this storm together! We're Northeasterners....we can do this!!
