Crossgates Mall celebrated it's 38th birthday last Friday, and it's the perfect time to look back on when the Mall first opened here in the Capital Region. First up, you must watch the promotional video below for the Mall. It shows Albany in all it's 1984 glory, and then it features some of the stores that were in the Mall when they first opened their doors. So this got me and some friends of mine thinking. What stores do you miss from Crossgates in the old days. We brought up B Dalton bookstore and Kinney Shoes. And for me, being the music lover I am, there was Tape World and Record Town. And even SoundTrax, where you could go in and record your own song and get a cassette tape of it. I spent a little too much on those back in the day.
