Will Smith Slaps Chris Rock at the Oscars! And No It Wasn't a Stunt!

What the heck did we see when we were watching the Oscars last night?!?! I enjoy the Oscars because I love movies. But I was not expecting, and I don't think anyone else was either, that the big event of the night had nothing to do with movies. Chris Rock came out on stage to present an award and did a couple of jokes. One of which was about Jada Pinkett-Smith, Will Smith's wife. Chris said that Jada would be appearing in the next “G.I. Jane” movie, a clear reference to her haircut. When the camera cut to her, she didn’t look pleased. Next thing we knew, Will stormed the stage and slapped the comedian. Chris was like, “Wow, Will Smith just smacked the s—t out of me,” and tried to defend his joke. Will was NOT having it. While you couldn’t hear what he said, you could read his lips when he said, “Keep my wife’s name out your f—king mouth.” Chris still managed to get the last word when he said, “That was the greatest night in the history of television.” For the record, Chris The Los Angeles Police did ask if Chris wanted to press charges against Will, and Chris said no. Here's the history: Jada has been vocal about suffering from alopecia, an autoimmune disease that attacks the hair follicles resulting in hair loss. She’s finally embracing the condition versus trying to hide it. Later on when Will won the Oscar for Best Actor in King Richard, he apologized to the Academy but not to Chris Rock. He also said that love makes you do crazy things. Check out the video below and see it all go down for yourself. Let me know what you think on the TRY Facebook page.

Personally I think this is completely unacceptable. Chris' joke was in bad taste, but you don't walk on stage and slap a man for a bad joke. You can talk to him about it later. Ask him for an apology. Even go on stage and explain why it's a bad joke. But laying hands for something like this...NEVER okay in my opinion. I understand it, but it's not right. That's just my take. What do you think?
