Proctors to Host Big Fandom Fest in August! I'm Going, Will You?

Okay, I don't think it's a surprise to anyone that I'm a bit of a geek, nerd, whatever you want to call it. But I fly that flag proudly. Well now Proctors is launching an event just for us geeks, nerds, gamers, bookworms and more! It's called Fandom Fest and it's coming Friday, August 12th through Sunday August 14th! These means all of us geeks and nerds will be able to get together to share the love we have for our favorite movies, tv shows, game, whatever it is! It sounds like a blast. They've already announced some celebrity guests with more to be announced. Check out the list so far"

  • James Marsters, best known as Spike in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spin-off Angel. Marsters has also been seen as Brainiac in Smallville, Captain John Hart on Torchwood, and terrorist Barnabas Greeley in Syfy's Caprica   
  • Rodger Bumpass is known for his long-running role as Squidward Tentacles on the animated television series SpongeBob SquarePants as well as many other voices on the show 
  • Keith David is famous for such films as The ThingArmageddon, and The Chronicles of Riddick, as well as a prominent voice-over actor for games like Mortal Kombat 11, the Mass Effect series, the Halo series and many more 
  • Elden Henson was Fulton Reed in The Mighty Ducks trilogy, Foggy Nelson in Daredevil and the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Pollux in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 and Part 2 
  • Adrienne Barbeau, best known as Broadway’s original Rizzo in Grease, as Carol Traynor, the divorced daughter of Maude Findlay on the sitcom Maude, and the voice of Catwoman in Batman: The Animated Series (1992-1995) 
  • Debbie Rochon, best known for her work in independent horror films and counterculture films including Model HungerExhumedSlime City Massacre and so many more 
  • MORE TO BE ANNOUNCED! 

There's also going to be an esports tournament, a pop arcade featuring 10 full sized arcade cabinets and the chance to see very cool pop culture stuff like the 1966 Batmobile and Batcycle, a life sized Flintstone Mobile and we'll even get to see the Back to the Future DeLorean!

Friday, August 12 | 4 – 10 p.m. 

Saturday, August 13 | 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. 

Sunday, August 14 | 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Three-day passes are on sale now with an EARLY BIRD discount through May 15 which includes a T-shirt and a lanyard for General and Student passes! General Three-Day Pass: $120.00, Student Three-Day Pass: $96 and 4 and Under Three-Day Pass: $30. 

Starting May 16, single and three-day passes will be set at full price. Passes are available through the Box Office at Proctors, in person or via phone at 518-346-6204 Monday-Friday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. or online at proctors.org.
