Meet Mantis, 8.5yo female mastiff mix from the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society. Mantis is a sweet lady of a certain age just looking for someone to hang out with. This gentle giant came to us from another shelter to try to get a new start on life. She is a very sweet, silly girl who loves to make you feel loved. She sometimes forgets what to do with her tongue, and you will often see it sticking out of her mouth! She can be nervous in new situations, so we think a home that is quiet and doesn’t have much traffic would be a good thing for her. She was treated for heartworm, but she has been given the all-clear (that’s why you might notice a rectangle of shaved space on her back). This sweet girl can be dog-social, but mainly wants to take slow, meandering walks with you and snuggle on up.
