Pick Me Up: Sanitation Workers Help Little Boy Who Greets Them Every Week!

Today's Pick Me Up is so beautiful! It shows that small kindnesses mean everything. Sanitation workers in this one neighborhood loved picking up the trash on Monday because a little boy, Beckham, would run out to see them every week with a big smile and to say hello to them! Kevin and the rest of his coworkers loved seeing Beckham every week. But then they found out that little Beckham has been in an accident and had to be hospitalized for a short time. So Kevin got together with his coworkers and they decided to do something nice for the boy. A doorbell video posted to social media by Beckham’s mom Jessica shows one of the workers knocking on the family’s door. When they answer, he hands them a gift bag full of toys with a balloon tied to it for the boy. "When my helpers handed him a bag of toys, he's, 'OMG, OMG, is this a monster truck?!' He was very excited to see that. Just made our day," Kevin says. "It was very touching to see him after we heard about his accident, him coming to the door. His smile was just so beautiful, so big." Jessica says she shared the video because public service workers too often are underappreciated, but it’s easy to appreciate the kindness of these workers and the appreciation of their young buddy.
