Okay, so over the weekend I participated in my very first garage sale. I wanted to kind of dip my toe in the water to see if it was something I could do responsibly. I had a couple of tables of items, and then of course my Life is Good shirts that I had told you about. The day was going well, people were dropping by and a few items were selling. One woman bought two or three t-shirts, and I was having fun chatting with neighbors. Overall I was enjoying the experience. Then a woman came and started looking through the shirts. Now keep in mind I probably had about 60 tshirts, both long and short sleeve. I was selling them for two or three bucks a piece. Well, this woman, who by the way wasn't a double XL, bought about 35 of the shirts. I was so surprised but happy that she knew someone who could use the shirts. I wanted them to be put to good use with someone else. But then in talking with my neighbor who organizes the garage sale every year, she told me that woman wasn't buying for herself or someone she knew, she was buying to resell the shirts. I was in shock. Now don't get me wrong, I don't care about the money, and I certainly wouldn't go through whatever she is going through to resell them. In fact, I donated the ones I had left to Good Will. But I never knew that people buy things at garage sales to resell. Is this a thing? Has this happened to you? Let me know on the TRY Facebook page. Should I be upset about it? Or is this just the way it goes?
