Meet Abigail, our 11 year old Pit Mix Pet of the Week from the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society! Hi, I'm Abigail! I'm a smart, independent, young woman who knows what she wants in life...and that's a forever home with plenty of snacks. Okay, so I might not be *young* young, but I still have plenty of pep in my step. Because I enjoy my snacks so much, I tend to keep them all to myself. Since I'm still learning the concept of sharing, I think I would do better with older kids, if any. Abigail is part of our new Hidden Gems program here at MHHS (see the gem on one of her photos). Somehow, this sweetheart has been available for over 100 days. Being here for that long gives her a distinct advantage though. This means we have gotten to know her really well. We know what she likes, who she likes, what she doesn’t like, and have been able to work on behavior with her! Some dogs come and go so quickly, we only know the basics. AND, MHHS is revitalizing its pet cemetery! Our team has begun the process of restoring headstones and beautifying our greenspace. We are also building a new pathway in the cemetery, with pavers that will be personalized with names of pets we have loved and lost.
