Pick Me Up: Dog Eats Winning Lottery Ticket, but Owners Still Get Paid!

I just love today's Pick Me Up. Anyone who has ever had a dog knows that sometimes they can get into things that they shouldn't. Well that's what happened with Rachel and Nathan Lamet. They bought a scratch off ticket on the way home from work, but just threw it on the ottoman as they went about getting dinner and watching TV. Ultimately, they forgot about it, and went to bed without scratching it off to see if it was a winner. When they got up in the morning though, they found that their two dogs, Apple and Jack had decided that the scratch off would make a great midnight snack. They ripped the ticket up. Rachel and Nathan weren't mad at their pups, but they did wonder....could it be a winning lottery ticket. What if it was the BIG winner!! So they picked up all the pieces, took a picture of their dogs and sent it off to the Lottery office with the explanation. The Lottery Office managed to put all the pieces together and Nathan was right...it was a winner, though not the BIG winner they were hoping for. All their trouble earned them....wait for it.....eight bucks!! They just love the story...so did the Lottery Office. Nathan and Rachel will be telling it forever. I just love it!
