It truly is the end of an era in Lake George. Waterslide World, the fun water park that was opened in 1979, and stayed open until 2018 will soon be demolished. The water park closed in 2018 when the owner passed away. He had stated that he never wanted Waterslide World to reopen without him, so it never did. That was so sad because it was still very successful. But it has been closed for four years and now comes word that it will all be knocked down to make way for new housing and retail space. I know it's been closed for awhile, but it was still nice to see it when you drove into the Village and get caught up in those great memories of Waterslide World. But now it will be no more.
