So the other day I stopped at one of our local convenience stores to pick up some ice cream and whipped cream because hey it's summer, and you need those things in your house. What I wasn't ready for was the fact that I was going to be "carded" for buying the whipped cream. Apparently a law went into effect about a year ago, but here in the Capital Region, it's just started being enforced. If you plan on buying canned whipped cream, you know, like Reddi Wip, get ready to take our your license. You must be 21 and older to purchase it. Seriously. It's because for years, kids have sniffed the nitrous oxide gas that pushes the whipped cream out the top of the can. It's been called Whippits, and it gives kids a brief high. Because of that, a law was passed last year so that now, you have to be 21 or older to get your whipped cream. So just be prepared. At first I thought they were carding me because they thought I shouldn't eat so much ice cream. LOL. Has this happened to you yet? Let me know.
