We all know the phrase, "see a penny pick it up, all the day you'll have good luck." Well that is definitely true for John Grant. John had gone into a convenience store and bought a five dollar scratch off lottery ticket. As he was walking out of the convenience store, he saw a penny on the ground and picked it up, deciding it was a lucky one. He then sat in his truck and used that penny to scratch off the ticket. That penny helped John win the $100,000 prize!! John says he thinks finding the penny and winning were fate. He said when he saw the scratch off, his heart started beating real fast, and he wasn't even sure what he was seeing. But then he realized it was the BIG prize! John said the winnings will go into savings, but he might splurge and buy himself a new truck. Good for him. I'll make sure I always pick up those pennies when I see them!
