Pick Me Up: Teenagers Come Through to Help Kids With CP In School's Fun Run

Today's Pick Me Up gives me hope for the future! Every year, Park Lane Elementary has a PTA Fun Run Fundraiser but for two of the students, Lucas Myrick and Elsa Dent, it's usually not so fun. Both of them have Cerebral Palsy and it's nearly impossible for them to physically keep up with their friends and classmates. But all that changed this year, when the High School Cross Country team decided to help out Lucas and Elsa. Two Jordan High Football players pushed Lucas through the race, until the very end when Lucas got up and ran across the finish line. And the entire Jordan High cross-country team ran alongside Elsa, who ran the whole run using her walker. Elsa and Lucas LOVED the event this year! And the coach of the high school cross country team, Joel Sundquist said that he believes "the candle loses nothing by lighting another candle" and that's what the teenagers did for Lucas and Elsa. Just beautiful!!!
