Well this is pretty upsetting. There is a good chance that we will not have Capital Holiday Lights at all this year! This would be the event's 26th year, but now there's a chance it won't happen at all. Last year was the last time that the lights could be held at Albany's Washington Park. Because the display had gotten so big and so many people come through every year, it was just causing too much trouble for the residents who live around the Park. I completely understand that. So the Albany Police Athletic League has had a year to find a new location, and sadly, so far, they have not been able to do so. They want to try to keep the event in Albany because the money raised is for the kids of Albany, but at this point, they're looking for any place in the Capital Region. If they don't find somewhere within the next few weeks, Capital Holiday Lights in the Park will go dark this year. That would be very sad. For the first time in 25 years, we would not have that amazing display of lights. So we'll keep our fingers crossed and hope that they're able to find a new location. The event would definitely be missed if it's not able to happen this year. Where do you think would be a good location for Capital Holiday Lights?
