Have you seen the new show on HBO/HBO Max called The Last of Us? It's based on a video game, but I didn't know that when I started watching it last week. It had gotten good reviews so I gave it a shot. It was really good, creepy but in a fun way, dramatic, a little sad....you know a great show that had a little bit of everything. Well, then yesterday I watched the second episode where they showed us what the "clickers" (aka zombies) looked like. (See the video below...the clicker face shows up at 1.32) Okay, I have something called Trypophobia. It is being so grossed out by certain patterns that it causes major anxiety. The patterns are usually circles clumped together, but it can be any kind of pattern that is repetitive. Well, the faces on these things have a pattern that sets off my phobia so bad. I was crawling out of my skin while I was watching. I really like the show, but I'm not sure I can keep watching. Though I talked to my doctor about it, and she said it's good to watch it because it's like immersion therapy...the more you see it, the less it will freak you out. So I'm going to try to keep watching.
Have you seen the show? Did you like it? Do you suffer from Trypophobia like me? Let me know where you stand on this one. Am I alone in this?
