Today is a happy and sad day here at the station. My good friend and coworker, Mike Patrick is retiring today. There's no one who deserves it more. Mike has been a broadcaster for over 40 years. He's done just about everything in this business, and he's done it all incredibly well. For me, he's been an amazing friend, from the moment I met him back in 1988, when he hired me for a part time job on a radio station in the market. That part time job lead to me being full time and being able to enjoy this career that I love so so much. I will forever be grateful to him for that. But along with that, we've been buddies forever and I can't imagine what 98.3 TRY will be like without him. I know our friendship will remain, but I will miss seeing and talking with him every morning. But the most important thing that Mike deserves is to walk out of here on his own terms and to go live a great life with his wonderful wife Nancy. They both deserve all the fun, joy and relaxing that retirement will bring. So while I miss him terribly, I'm so glad he can now smash his alarm clock and do whatever he wants.
