We are having a beautiful week of weather here in the Capital Region, but if you're dealing with spring allergies, like I am, sometimes the nice weather means more tissues. Here are some tips for dealing with those allergies if you're feeling them like I am.
First up, talk with your doctor. Maybe you should be on a specific allergy medication. I use Zyrtec and saline for my nose.
Secondly, when you're outside, wear sunglasses and a hat. If you're doing yard work, think about wearing gloves and maybe even a mask. If you can don't go out until peak pollen times are over. Peak is usually between 5am-10am and then at dusk. And when you're in the car, set the airflow to recirculate.
When inside, keep your windows closed, take your shoes off before walking around your home. Take a shower AND wash your hair before bedtime. Change and wash your clothes after being outside.
Those are just some tips so that you can enjoy the beautiful weather without going through a box of tissues. We all want to be outside when the weather is like this, and hopefully these tips can help! If you know any other tips, please let us know on the TRY Facebook page.
