Well, it's coming back, but with old questions and old contestants! “Jeopardy” is introducing some major changes to season 40, and its apparently because of the ongoing writers strike. The show’s executive produce Michael Davies shares that the previous plans for the season have been derailed due to the ongoing strike, and they’ve had to pivot. Season 40 will feature old questions and old contestants. "“I believe...it would not be fair to have new contestants making their first appearance...with non-original material...So we decided that really we needed to invite back and give a second chance in general to players who probably thought that their chance to come back and play...had gone forever," Davies shares.
