This is important for all of us to know. Tomorrow (Wednesday), there will be a nationwide Emergency Alert System Test. That means that every smartphone in the U.S. that is turned on and in range of a cell tower is going to get an alert at around 2:20pm EST! FEMA is conducting their test, which they do every three years, to make sure that in case there is a real emergency, they can get in touch with Americans. There will also be the regular tests we usually see on our TV's and hear on our radios at the same time. Don't get freaked out by it. It is just a test. This is basically the message you will see on your phone: “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.” Just want to give you a heads up on this, and please share the information because my guess if that when you're in a meeting or out to lunch or in a store, or just at home, when everyone's phone, tv, radio and any other connected device starts going off with an alarm, it could be scary. But it truly is just a test. Again, please make sure you share the info with others.
