Social Dilemma: Should My Daughter Have to Interview for a Job?

Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma is about hiring family at a business. Here's the email from Bill. Hi Jaime. I have a hiring question when it comes to family. My daughter is now 16 years old and my wife thinks putting her to work part-time in my company is a good move. I agree, but I don’t think it should be that easy. I want her to go through the interview process and get the job on her own merits rather than nepotism. My wife thinks this is unfair and thinks I’m being unreasonable. She’s a bright girl and I’m sure she’ll get through the interview with flying colors. Am I being “cruel” about this, or is it the valuable experience that I’m hoping it will be for her to get an interview under her belt? Thanks for the help ~ Bill. I love this idea. Even though Bill is a business owner, he wants his daughter to know the experience of getting her first job, which will then help in getting other jobs. I'm with him, not his wife. What do you think?
