Social Dilemma: Should My Neighbor Get A Say In Where I Walk My Dog?

Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Rod and it's about neighbors and dogs. Here's his email: Hi Jaime. I'm having an issue with a neighbor and I hope you can help me out. Walking by my neighbor’s house today, four doors down, she stopped me and my dog and asked us not to walk by her house anymore, suggesting we walk the other direction. She said her dog barks inside her house when we walk by because her dog doesn’t like my dog. How would you respond? I said, “Seriously, you’re telling me where to walk?” And then just walked away. She started babbling about how this is a community and we should care about her wishes. Meanwhile, her dog is inside at the front window going crazy. What would you do here? Do I forget it? Go back and say something? Help me out. Thanks ~ Rod. I do believe in community and helping each other out, but being able to walk around your neighborhood with your dog seems like something we all should be able to do. If it's not a hardship to walk in the other direction, I might do it, but if you walk AROUND the block, then I would keep doing that. Sounds like she needs to train her dog a bit.
