S Dilemma: Would It Be Rude To Sell A Special Concert Gift From My Uncle?

Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Johnny and it's about gifts, or at least one particular gift. Here's his email: Hi Jaime. I want to do something but I don't know if it's the right thing to do or not. Here's what happened. Last weekend, my uncle was fortunate enough to go to New York City to see the final KISS show. He said it was a great time, and he ended up getting this 24K gold plated “golden ticket” after the show…and he gave it to me as a gift because he knows I’m a fan. Between you and me, I’m not THAT big of a fan, and I did some research and see that some people are asking over a thousand dollars for them on eBay. How rude would it be to take a gift like this and immediately put it up for auction to cash in on it? It’s not like I’m ungrateful, it's just that I don't really care about the ticket, and it would be nice to have some extra cash, especially now. Hope you have some good advice. Thanks ~ Johnny. Wow, this is tough. If it were something like an article of clothing, or a hat, I would say it's no big deal to sell it or return it. But this is clearly a collector's item, especially if people are willing to spend that kind of money on it. I would feel bad putting it on ebay. But that's just me. What do you think? What would you do? Let's help Johnny out and let me know on the TRY Facebook page.
