S Dilemma: Do I Tell My Family I Can't Pay for Christmas Dinner This Year?

Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Danielle and it's about Christmas dinner. Here's her email: Hi Jaime. I'm in a bind and I need help for Christmas. Every year when I return home for the holidays, I usually treat my entire family to dinner at our favorite restaurant. This year has been pretty tough for me, financially speaking, and I was considering asking for my siblings to help pitch in for the meal. I don’t want to seem cheap or desperate, but the dinner tab is usually about a thousand bucks and it would be a lot for me to swing right now. Should I ask my siblings for help or would you just cancel dinner and make up an excuse. Thanks for the help ~ Danielle. I think the holidays are all about family and friends being there for one another. I have no doubt if Danielle explains to her family that it's been a tough year, everyone would be happy to chip in to help. Or maybe just make a pot luck dinner at one person's house, because in my mind, it's just about being together. I say Danielle should tell the family it's been a tough year and take it from there. What do you think? Let's help her out and let me know on the TRY Facebook page.
