Social Dilemma: My Parents Sold My Childhood Home Without Asking Me

Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Stephanie and it's about her childhood home. Here's her email: Hi Jaime.  I’ve been out on my own for most of my twenties, but I still go back to my parent’s house for holidays and have a bunch of my stuff from my childhood stored there. I also have a lot of sentimental connection to the house I lived in for the first 20 years of my life, so I was shocked to learn that my parents sold the house and moved into a condo without telling me. They say that the time was right and everything happened so fast that they didn’t have time to tell me and that all my stuff is in boxes in storage, but I can’t understand why they wouldn’t have at least let me come see my childhood home one last time before they moved out. Am I wrong to be upset about this? Shouldn’t they have included me in this decision? Hope you can help them understand how I feel. Thanks ~ Stephanie. Well, I understand Stephanie being sad and a bit upset. But I don't think she should have an input into the decision. It's her parents' home, Stephanie has moved out and they wanted to downsize. As to why they didn't tell her, I don't know, but that seems like more of how their family interacts. What do you think? Should Stephanie have had input into her parents decision to sell her childhood home? Let's help her out and let me know on the TRY Facebook page.
