Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Larry and it's about friends and football. Here's the email: Hi Jaime. I’m beyond angry. Who schedules a baby shower during the playoffs? This weekend I'm going to have to miss the Chiefs/Ravens game because my wife told me we had to go to a baby shower. I barely know this woman, she’s a coworker of my wife’s. But it's a jack and jill baby shower and she said all the spouses are going. My wife says we’re all “good friends,” but a good friend wouldn’t schedule a baby shower during game time. It could’ve been at noon and been done by two…but nope. Now, my wife is upset with me because I keep telling her I don't want to go. Am I out of line here? Shouldn't my wife understand playoffs come but once a year. She likes football too. Should I go to the baby shower and avoid a fight, or stay home and watch the game? Help. Thanks ~ Larry. This is tough and I feel like it has more to do with communication than anything else. I wouldn't force my spouse to go to a baby shower over a playoff football game. But I don't love baby showers either. I love buying the gifts, I just don't love all the other stuff. So I think Larry should try to explain to his wife one more time and hopefully she'll understand.
