Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Mary, and it's a true dilemma. Here's her email: Hi Jaime. My 16-year-old son let it slip that his friend's mom had given him a massage. When I pressed him on it, he let me know that she was in school to get her license and needed people to practice on, and he was one of many. I was very upset as I don't think this is appropriate. I was also offended that she didn't ask me for permission first. My husband doesn't think it's a big deal. I worry about the lack of proper supervision, potential boundary issues, and possible emotional impact on my son. I want to confront her, but my husband and son are against it. I forbid my son from ever doing this again, but he thinks I am overreacting. Am I? Help me out here. Thanks ~ Mary. Well, I think the woman should have asked for permission first. I know most 16 year olds think they're adults but they're not. I'm trusting that the woman did nothing wrong, and a massage is just a massage, but just like a doctor's appointment, I think mom and dad should have known first. But I don't think I would make a big deal out of it, especially for my son's sake. What do you think? Let's help Mary out and let me know on the TRY Facebook page.
