Social Dilemma: Do I Tell My Wife that I Won Big on the Super Bowl?

Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Jake and it's about sharing information with your spouse. Here's his email: Hi Jaime. How was your Super Bowl? Mine was amazing. I really had no vested interest in either team from a fan standpoint, but I did win some serious cash because all but one of my bets came through. My wife has no clue, though. She just thought I was really into the game. What she doesn’t know is that I ended up winning over $30K…and that I bet over $5K to win that. I’m not normally a big gambler, but I just had a feeling on this one that ended up paying off. So, here’s my question…as much as I want to tell her about my windfall, I think it’s a better move to keep it quiet. Even with the amount that I won, she’ll still be really mad that I risked that much…especially since we don’t exactly have money pouring out of us. Do I tell her…or keep it secret…and slowly pay off bills, and hope she doesn’t notice and start asking questions? What would you do? Thanks for the help ~ Jake. I would tell her. Period. I'm not a fan of big secrets in a marriage. I mean if it was 20 bucks or something, no big deal, but this is a large amount of money. I think you have to say something. At least I would.
