Social Dilemma: Is It Rude to Wear Perfume/Cologne on a Long Flight?

Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma is about airplane etiquette. Here's the email: Hi Jaime my name is Jess and my husband and I listen to your show everyday, and I’m having an argument with him right now that I was hoping you could settle. Let me start by saying we are finally going on a delayed honeymoon. We've been married for years, but we didn't have a lot of money when we started out and then we had kids, and well, you know how it goes. Anyway, this will be the first time we're flying together, and we're having an issue. So we are leaving tomorrow and it’s a long flight. When I go on a flight I don’t put on any perfume because I think it’s rude when someone has a wafting scent coming off of themselves on a flight even if they are sitting next to someone they know. My husband wears a lot of cologne and I don’t mind because he smells great but I told him he cant douse himself the morning we are leaving to just wear a lot of deodorant. He says I’m crazy and he can wear as much cologne as he likes. Can you please tell him he’s breaking flight etiquette. Thanks for the help ~ Jess. Well, I'm with Jess all the way. When you're in an enclosed space like that, perfume and cologne can get overwhelming and there are a LOT of people who have allergies and some who just don't like it. No cologne or perfume on a plane. That's my take. What do you think? Let's help Jess and her husband out and let me know on the TRY Facebook page.
