Social Dilemma: My Dog Jumped On My Friend And Now She's Mad at Me

Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Susan and it's about her dog and her friend. Here's the email: Hi Jaime. I'm in the midst of an argument with a friend of mine and I'm wondering what you think about this. I have a small dog. I just got him about five months ago. He's quite sweet, but he's isn't completed trained yet and he does jump on people. All of my friends know this about him. Well one of my friend, Colleen, stopped by last week, and when she came into the house, my dog, Jake, jumped on her. He wasn't dirty, he only weighs 25 pounds, and she knows he's a jumper. Well she was so angry that I didn't lock him up somewhere so he wouldn't jump on her. Now, she stopped by unannounced which is fine with me, and she knows my Jake is a jumper. Well, she's still ticked off and thinks I should have put the dog in his crate while she was there so he wouldn't go near her. I'm sorry but it's Jake's house, and if she had told me she was going to stop by, I would have put him on a leash and kept him close to me, but she didn't so that's why it happened the way it did. Do you think I was wrong, or do you think she is? Hope you can help. Thanks ~ Susan. Well, you know me. My animals own my house and I just live there. My Charlie is a jumper too, but I will do my best to keep him off people who don't particularly enjoy that aspect of a dog. But I don't think Susan did anything wrong, and I think her friend is asking too much. That's just my take. What about you? Let me know on the TRY Facebook page.
