Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Marcus and it's about his boss. Here's his email: Hi Jaime I’ve been working for the same company for four years, and I love what I do. I also love my co-workers and my boss – that is, until last week. We were all in the break room having lunch when my boss revealed that he believed the earth was flat. I laughed, thinking he was kidding – but no one else around the table did, and neither did he. So I asked him, hoping it was a joke: are you serious? He assured me he was, and proceeded to lay out some of the Flat-Earther talking points. I decided to find a quick exit from the conversation and gently changed topics, but the seed was planted in my head: this guy is a beer or two short of a six-pack. Apparently, my co-workers were aware of his beliefs and just never talked about it, but now I can’t stop thinking about it – and I have lost a ton of respect for the guy. I’m not sure I can work for and take direction from someone so disregarding of science. What’s my next move? Thanks ~ Marcus Well, this is difficult. This is why you should never discuss this kind of stuff at work.
