Social Dilemma: I Don't Want My Wife To Breast Feed In Public. Am I Wrong?

Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Greg and I feel like it should be a question from 20 years ago. Here's his email: Hi Jaime this is Greg and I wanted to get your opinion on this debate: Is it ok for a woman to breastfeed in public? My wife and I are in a big argument about it right now. So my wife and I have a new born baby boy and we are both taking maternity time to be home with him together. We're older parents, my wife is 37 and I'm 42. Everything is great but every time we go take him for a walk in the park she sits on a bench and breastfeeds him. She’s got a shawl over her and the baby but why does she have to do that in public? I feel like it’s such an intimate thing to do in front of a bunch of strangers and it makes me feel incredibly uncomfortable. For some reason it doesn’t make her feel uncomfortable at all which weirds me out even more. I keep asking her to not do it but she tells me it’s fine. Now I don’t want to go to the park with her if she’s going to feed the baby in public. What should I do? Am I wrong for thinking a baby shouldn’t be breastfed in public? What do you think? Thanks ~ Greg. Well, I'm so sorry that Greg feels this way. I don't think there's anything wrong with a mother feeding her baby in public. It's natural and if other people have an issue with it, that's on them. That's just my take though. What do you think? Let's help Greg out and let me know what you think on the TRY Facebook page.
