S Dilemma: My Niece Forgot My Birthday; Does She Deserve to Be In My Will?

Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Wendy and it's about her Will. Here's her email: Hi Jaime. I haven't heard you talk about this before on your social dilemma. I'm a 56 year old widowed woman with no children. I recently went to my lawyer to make out my Will. I named some friends, but my niece will get most of my estate. However, recently, my niece completely forgot my birthday. I don't expect a gift or anything like that, but I do expect her to remember it. She's a grown adult, and she knows that since my husband passed, days like my birthday can be difficult. My friends were there for me, but my niece was not. When I mentioned it to her, she just said, oh sorry I forgot and nothing more. I'm starting to rethink my Will. I think I may have picked the wrong person to leave things to. Am I being petty or should I cut her out of the Will? Thanks for the help. ~ Wendy. Well, this is difficult. I think leaving someone in your Will has more to do with how much you love them. I would not cut out your niece because she forgot your birthday, BUT if she isn't being kind to you, or this is behavior that continues, I might change my mind. What do you think? Should Wendy change her Will and take her niece out? What would you do? Let's help Wendy out and let me know on the TRY Facebook page.
