Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Diedre and it's about getting caught in a work lie. Here's her email: Hi Jaime. I'm in a tough spot. I called in sick to work last week because I was feeling burnt out and needed a mental health day, but I didn’t feel comfortable saying that, so I lied and said I had a bad cold. I made the mistake of posting a pic of myself on social media, and my boss liked it. Now I’m freaking out because she knows I lied to her. Should I come clean about needing a mental break, or stick to my story? Is taking a mental health day as legit as being actually sick? Hope you can help ~ Diedre Well I think the only thing Diedre did wrong was lie. When calling in sick, you don't need to give a reason. You just say you're calling in sick. And I'm a big believer in mental health days as long as you don't abuse that. If Diedre has a close relationship with her boss, I think I would say something to her, explaining why she lied and that she won't do it again. But that's just me. What do you think?
